An older one that I love is strictly ballroom by Baz Luhrmann. probably one of his first movies. I also love room with a view, uncle Buck, rear window, just to name a few. A little variety.

I strongly suggest you watch Waking Ned Devine for a chuckle. Also, Shawshank Redemption it’s staged in a prison but it’s a movie about the human spirit and overcoming. I found it uplifting and go back to it often. Fast forward a bit when it’s in the laundry until Tim Robbins recovers ( maybe 3ish minutes)
