Cuz for most seasons Elena was the plot but it isn’t called the Elena diaries it’s called the vampire diaries, we got used to Elena, when they tried to continue it without her it just seemed weird. They messed up making Elena the plot for so many seasons, it was hard to adjust to other plots.

It was like when you're writing a story and you are in the draft and edit stage. Almost like the weren't sure what direction they wanted to go. (I did finish the series and have rewatched several times)
