@payingforpastme: Between this and another thing this week I am getting a little tired of the games! But anyways, this is now the 6th credit card I’ve put in a financial hardship program ! Reduced interest rates mean more money going towards the balance and paying debt off faster. #debtpayoff #debtfreejourney #debthelp #debttransparency #debtrelief
I just told them I was going to file bankruptcy. They put my interest rate down to 0% lmao

I called capital one and asked to lower my interest rate before I saw this video and they said absolutely nothing they could do. I saw this, called right back and asked about hardship programs and they got me set right up. CRAZY.

Yeah every bank has financial hardship program, but they stay in your records at one point of time you had hard time to pay off. which hurts your auto or mortgage loan to be approved. If you have big amount like $10k to pay off. you can also hire a lawyer. They will negotiate with the bank and reduce it to $5k but credit card will close by marking it paid in full.

mind as well just close the account, financial hardship means you can't afford the card and they'll stop giving you credit.

Yes, but is your card still open? Hardship programs are always available, but you lose the card.

Wording definitely matters because you failed to mention this isn't permanent. They'll drop rates for 12 months

Naw doesn’t work unless you close it down. Hardship closes the account. You could get and find a card with 0% transfer balance as well. Just saying lol

I’ve asked for reduced interest rate due to my loyalty and my credit score as it has increased. Was still told no. So i said. I guess I’ll transfer it and cancel my card. Then they reduced it to 19% from the 29%.

WF doesn’t do this btw! a lot of institutions will lower the rate, but will also not allow future card usage and may require you to close your account.
