Rikke :
This movie really resonates with me and my daughter. I was having complications with trying to give birth, I kept hearing some kind of ringing, like a tone with melody. As I start to fade a little bit I start seeing the bells, I knew I was called upon. I fight it, because I wanted to be here with my baby. I told the midwife I might not make it because I can’t fight it anymore, I don’t feel the physical world that much more. I was trying so hard not to drift away and kept telling her the doctors need to help us. They called everyone at the hospital and I kept yelling please put me under now I can barely stay conscious. After they sedate me I finally let go. I went there, beside the bells further up there was this big gate opening up for me, they said if I enter I can’t go out again. I told them I am here to get my baby, and was told to go another way with someone I knew. Everything is as the boy describes. I got my baby and went down the same way pass the bells. Before this all happening, my grandma kept telling me that my late aunt kept visiting. And she tells her things. She told her that I was going to have a daughter, and on that exact day. Grandma kept calling while I was on labour, I tried to make sense of what she was saying, it only made sense later. Grandma told me my aunt was gonna be there for us, I think she was someone that I knew that was with us. I am not religions, though I was baptised as an infant, I only go to church on Christmas, funerals and weddings. I rarely pray, and don’t talk about God often. But I remember my mother seeing the painting in that movie and broke down. Because she had walked with Him too as a kid, and that’s when she knew it wasn’t just a dream, watching the girl painting the exact the same she knew. She’s the same as me with religion, she does not go to the church or pray. But we know.
