Since I started doing it this way its so much easier. no cable or chain for setting the limit screws than can fine tune if needed after its all on.

easier to ajust with a chain on to get the alignment better than this technique. a little more experience and you'll be fine.

It's only a stop. I would allow it to come past the low gear a bit as this allows the chain to engage with the cog better. 😌

Basically, you have a stand to do the same thing with the attached cable, and you also have the option of re-tensioning. Furthermore, forcing the trolley causes it to bend and become overloaded.

Prefer to do it with the chain on and with the low gear selected. Doing it your way doesn’t account for the cable tension and flex in the system however minute
