Regen happens ONLY at 2.5k rpm. if you have an accessory heater it will turn on and keep the revs at ≈1000rpm to keep engine at operating temperature so you get heat inside the car.

Why does nobody understand that the particulate filter cannot regenerate at idle? The best thing to do is simply switch the engine off to avoid further problems — on the next drive, the regeneration will start over and be completed properly.
