Why not? My grandparents traveled all over the world until they turned 90. They died at 96 and 102.

I was a SAHM and hubby retired in 2004 at 56. We’re still traveling at 75 & 77 and 10,000 steps is not a problem. Going to Japan for 6 weeks in the fall. 🥰🥰

We became empty nesters and I was diagnosed with a chronic disease that has greatly hindered my mobility. I have to admit I’ve grieved the life I thought I’d have at this point. I imagined we’d finally travel, just the two of us, but it wasn’t meant to be. I’m still grateful for the life we’ve had though. 🩷

Yes. Why wait. I have a disabled son and I will never be an “empty nester”. I’m going where I can when I can. Period.

So what? There is no requirement that a good life involves travel purely for self centered enjoyment. When did this idea take over?

You can be very active well into your 70’s, early 80’s if you start now! Stay active, work out, do strength training, work on your balance.

Travel is stressful, surely life is about contentment. You don’t always have to be going here or there

That’s exactly what I’m doing now. If my husband can’t go then I have a best friend that loves to travel too because her husband can’t go because medical reasons we’ve been having a blast. We’ve been to Vegas to see if we travel well together and then we took off Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden and then did Charleston last year. my husband and I are doing Ireland Sweden in May. If you can do travel then do it!
