Once a woman asked if I would switch from my window seat to hers so she could sit next to her mom in the middle next to me…. I was in economy and she was in business class. Easy yes of my life.

It is also not safe, seats are assigned. What if an emergency happens. Also didn't someone ended up banned from a flight because staff mixed them up with a different person.

I’m 6’6” and I fly often. I buy seats in economy and upgrade for leg room. I’m not moving under any condition unless it’s a better seat. If I’m in economy I have paid way more for my specific seat because I need it.

Airlines are going and honestly should start banning seat switching. The negotiation/arguments it causes delays take off and the attendants don’t start being paid until the doors are closed. It’s wage theft at a certain point

When I book, I'm immediately looking at all the seats and trying to plan what works for me. I will also pay to upgrade. if you don't do that, that's on you. so plan ahead or get used to the word no.

One time a lady sat in my seat (window) and I said “oh I think you’re in my seat” and she said “you can just take mine!”…the middle. I said “no I’ll be taking mine” and he proceeded to argue about how moving would be inconvenient and she didn’t like middle seats but forgot to pay for a different seat…I was like babe you could have moved 10 times by now. She finally moved and then talked on the phone to someone about how rude I was for not switching until the flight attendant told her she needed to hang up lmao.
