I started homeschooling my 2nd grade 7 year old this year. She is really struggling with sounding out words and phonics. We are using Christian Light. Im really considering taking her back to first grade LA. Would you recommend taking her back to the beginning of the first grade light units?

I just love all of your advice—thank you for everything, lady! I would love to do an alternate schedule like you do (math one day, reading the next). However, after testing my son with IXL today, we realized we need to start him in CLE Language Arts 4. We’re switching over from IEW. Since he’s technically in fourth grade and we’re just now starting this level, will doing an alternate schedule completely mess us up?

If I done good and the beautiful kindergarten can I do the Christian light 1st grade or do I need to do kinder all over again? She’s struggling to read, she comprehends the letters and can sound out but she struggles and forgets. She had ADHD

I’m so torn on sticking with BJU press again for LA and Reading or switching to CLE. We do Social studies and Bible studies for CLE but I have no idea what to expect for CLE for the others. 🤦♀️

Hi quick question, my son just finished Good and beautiful LA level 1 and I’m switching to CLE. I did the placenta test and he definitely needs to start at CLE level 1 because of the gaps with Good and Beautiful- do I just get the level 1 for Reading and Language Arts? Do I need to get the Learning to Read books at all?

I want to switch my son to the language arts in 3rd grade but we have used evan moore books the last two years so none of the sound marks in CL would make sense to him. should I start him in a earlier grade and catch him up?

what keeps me from cle is the 3rd grade and up how it has all the penmanship in cursive with in the book and my son just isn't ready for cursive and I didnt think I would really want to teach it since schools stopped teaching it. but seems like u wouldnt really want to skip it in cle either since it builds upon it as it moves up grades. are you doing the cursive?
