people like to blame french high command, which i can understand to a degree but the german invasion of france was quite literally a one in a million lucky shot. rommel’s famous push into france? nearly caused a complete collapse of the german line. german push through the ardens? literally no one expected it because it WAS a stupid move, the germans just got lucky. the entire german war machine early in the war was built entirely on luck.
