@cameliakatz: it’s been a heavy time for iranians all over the world. waking up in another country. going to work. answering emails. pretending to be okay. living an ordinary day while iran is not. and carrying the guilt of all of it. nothing is happening to me. and that is the guilt. we watch from afar while our own people fight for what is already their right, feeling helpless and powerless. what matters most right now is listening to what iranian people are actually asking for. they are asking for freedom. for a future where they can choose their own leaders. for the right to live without fear of harm or punishment. this is not a fight against religion. it is a fight against a government forcing religion into politics and using it as a tool of control. people deserve the freedom to believe or not believe. to wear what they want or not wear. to live according to their own values without violence or oppression. these are basic human rights. the iranian government continues to silence its people by cutting the internet and detaining those who speak up. when their voices are taken away, it becomes even more important for those outside of iran to listen, to share, and to keep talking.
