It’s really exhausting. Sometimes it feels like I’m the only adult in the house. I feel like I have to tell my mom what she should or shouldn’t do. Because she’s my mother, I still have certain expectations of her just basic things that mothers do. And it shouldn’t be that I have to do the things a mother is supposed to do, just because she doesn’t. But when I pull away or respond shortly because I don’t have the energy to talk either from the chronic exhaustion I feel or because of something she’s done I end up feeling guilty. And then I get frustrated again because she doesn’t understand me.
