One thing I know for sure, a child has a deeply primal love for their parents that almost NOTHING can break, no matter their age. Dare I say, as much as the parents love for the child. This must’ve been so incredibly hard for him, so proud of him!!

His statement was so direct, heartfelt and without the tell-tale signs of overexplaining that my heart hurt for him. So happy that regardless of how his parents will respond, he is in a happy place. Money doesn't negate pain, and the "poor little richboy" narrative from so many commentators is so reductive.

Hmm this one is tough though. I see a lot of MIL comments that people go through with horrible MILs and people put their own experience into it. But I've also had an experience with a partner none of my friends or family liked, this put me in the middle and it took me a while until I was ready to end that relationship, I would get more and more alienated from friends and family. I did write and say things similar like he said, bc it was tough and I blamed everyone else for not supporting me through this, when all they did was mean well, they didn't know how to maintain a relationship with me while trying to hint that my partner might not be good for me. I would get angrier at them the more alone I felt. Luckily got out.

I think there is a distinct difference between Brooklyn and his siblings because he went to school in the majority in America to very high-end precious schools with very precocious precious other children. His siblings went to school in the UK. The end.

You can tell a lot about the person based on who they side with on this situation. Soooo triggering and I’m just so proud of Brooklyn for speaking out and standing up for himself, I can’t imagine how scary yet freeing it probably feels for him right now.
