It only steals the commander if the opponent leaves it in the graveyard. it is able to, but really shouldn't ever be stolen by reaper king no more. its free to say "I put my commander in the command zone"

It’s on death trigger tho? Don’t death triggers happen before it hits graveyard. You can only move commander to command zone when it swaps zones I believe. So would you not be able to steal it

See the choice of changing commander states should be in the bottom most layer allowing death triggers and other abilities to hit the commander before leaving a zone

Is this another thing they shortened like etb to just enters? It doesn’t specify that it has to come from the graveyard only that it dies

I thought state based actions weren't checked during spell/ability resolution? I'm confused now.

but question that should be asked says when it dies, not when it goes to GY. There are a number of cards that State die as well as gy. Wouldn't that because it says Die Reaper would steal cause it sees it die, not dee it enter the GY

However, if they choose to leave it in the graveyard, it would be able to steal it, correct?

can you explain how Sorin lord of innistrad's effect is considered one action while the reaper king no more's action is on the stack? both are creature dying allows you to take them from the graveyard and put them under my control.

Does this not work the same way Child of Alara does since the commander zone change a while back? Since the reaper does not specify it has to return from the graveyard.

does it steal if they choose to leave it in the Graveyard? or is grave to battlefield a zone change that allows them to put in the command zone, or any reanimated ability for that matter that let's be grab opponent's creatures?

Does this also apply to tokens? They cease to exist after they go to the graveyard but not sure if dying and gaining control would happen prior to their fizzling out

but it doesn't say from the graveyard, just states put it onto the battlefield, why would the zone its in matter?

David :
The nitpick would be they get to send it back to the command zone before Reaper Kings trigger even goes on the stack. SBA's check before the trigger gets put on the stack and then priority is given

Would be a bit more accurate to say it can steal comanders but it's super easy to prevent

Ohhhhhh I’m glad you cleared this up, I thought death trigger vs. graveyard trigger would’ve made it possible. Thank you for the clarification
