I’ve put brakes on rotors with no machining many, many times it’s fine that last a long time this is just dumb

My breaks are sounding worse and worse and I only have 12,000 miles. I’m not sure if they are dirty, need lubricant or break pads🤦🏾♀️

So why did my dealer just quote me and recommend pads before next inspection

This is so true. I just replaced the brake pads 2 weeks ago & every time I pressed the break, the steering wheel shakes like crazy. I had do them again & pay the mechanic twice. 😭

Question! I’ve seen the thoughts on Nissan Cvt’s (👎🏼) however I saw they got rid of the CVT on the new Pathfinders , will this be a solid choice now or is Nissans reliability in general bad? Thanks!

the real truth is that it DEPENDS on the rotor and how much you drove on the brake pad without replacing it thats the real answer context matters a lot

I just did the pads and rotors, greased the slide pins at the same time and they squeak like crazy! I've done pad slaps in the past and never had em squeak past the first week. Did I just buy crappy semi metallic pads? Seems like that's all the part stores had. 99 expedition

I've never changed rotors with pads. My 2008 jeep has 300k miles with factory rotors. Mechanic is just trying to take your money.

So you expect me to replace my rotors every change or resurface them?? Those hands look HR dept to me. Tender mentality 💪 if everything is working correctly calibers are every 40-60,000 miles. Brake pads can be worn after 15-20,000 . Idk i think the best practice is approaching each vehicle as a new project. This isnt paperwor and everything isnt the same everytine
