You so obviously care so deeply for your ducks their wellbeing and happiness is your top priority and I love seeing it and I’m so glad your babies have you to look out for them the way you do

The amount of times that my call ducks have defy the odds. Amazes me. You as an animal lover are doing the best you can for what you have. She loves you no matter what. And my experience the ones we are more attached to seem to fight hard harder. Even on their dying breath. There’s been a couple of my animals where I’ve had to give permission to tell them it’s OK for them to leave before they actually left. She loves you and you love her. You have done amazing and you’re doing amazing. 💕

This is the same philosophy we use at my rehab facility. Birds are so tricky, too. Often, especially in geriatric animals, we have to sit down and really consider if we are prolonging an animals life for our benefit or theirs. It’s our duty as caretakers to make sure they go out with dignity. But for avians especially. Their lives are so much different than ours and we must consider what means more to them rather than what we think means more.
