If you sprinkle some salt on the garlic before you do it, it'll keep it from sticking, then you can just tap it out.

A garlic press does sort of the same thing. A lot smaller and a lot easier to clean.

I put the whole bag of garlic in the food processor. Then put it in a plastic bag and flatten it. Score it with the back of a knife and freeze it. Very easy to break off sections when you need them
