That doesn’t teach purgatory fist of all. It teaches jesus made atonement for all who lived by faith from the beginning of time. Including those born before the incarnation.

if Jesus wanted the 7 books in the Bible he would of endorsed it. Jesus confirmed the Torah when he said from Abel to Zachariah you slain the prophets. that represents the first and last books. if he wanted to acknowledge the 7 maccabbean martyrs or in some other other way endorse the books, he would of. but he didn't.

You didn't cooked no one bud. He was just giving his reasons of why we don't see it as divine scripture. You said "we would have a small Bible" but u mentioned what? 4 extra books? Which are pretty much confirmed by other books. However, if you see Maccabees, he's applying everything he mentioned to Maccabees only, not each of them individually, if we go individually then you would be right. Also what he meant by the New Testament doctrine, they're very similar to the Old Testament doctrine, having Jesus as the high priest and the whole tabernacle itself. So yeah, idk what you're doing either, he didn't rejected the Old Testament, at all, while you said he did. He just said that the base is what Jesus and the apostles taught, because of the new covenant that Jesus brings in the New Testament. So unless you're still following the Mosaic laws and all these tabernacle rules which were pretty much the base of the Old Testament, then it's not your doctrine's base.

Jeremiah appears in maccabees. So I mean, there is a prophet. Thats a terrible standard because there's no prophet in Esther, it doesn't even mention God.

Hey great vid. I would watch Trent horn on issues like this. His explanation of God breathed scripture is very insightful on how our church may have used a different approach in identifying scripture

we have no issue with first maccabbees, but trying to connect 2 maccabbees to the first doesn't work. they are written by different authors, at a different period in time, so you have to examine it as a stand alone document, it doesn't get the automatic privilege from 1 maccabbees. it directly disagrees with undisputed books universally accepted. there are no manuscripts in the correct language for the time period it claims to be from. and it is far from universally accepted by any early church fathers, there is plenty of reason to approach 2nd maccabbees with skepticism
