Sometimes, I wonder how different my siblings’ lives would have been if our healthcare system had not failed them. 💔 Caring for people living with cerebral palsy has opened my eyes to so many painful realities in Nigeria. The struggles, the financial burden, the lack of adequate support, and the feeling of constantly having to fight for what should be basic healthcare. Nobody prepares you for what it means to watch people you love live with conditions that require lifelong care, while you struggle to access the resources they need to live better lives. This is not just a rant. It is pain, frustration, and a cry for a system that prioritizes the lives of people with disabilities and supports the families caring for them. Disability care should not be a privilege. Access to healthcare should not depend on how much money a family has. And no family should have to carry this burden alone. My siblings deserve better. Every person living with cerebral palsy deserves better.
