There was a mystery hole in my moms back yard in east Tacoma. Also got about 3-4 feet across. Running water would constantly rise and drop. Could be a well. But took a cement truck full to get the hole closed but was told cold have taken a lot more. The neighbors behind us also had a big hole in their yard.

There was a tycoon who lived over in the north end early 1900’s who had a well on his property that would blow air up out of it. He put wind pipes in it for a while until neighbors complained. They speculated it was wind coming off Ruston through a giant fissure. ✌

I’m confused by the story’s contradictions. “…can’t find the bottom” vs “the bottom is about 35 feet down”. Which is it? Also, how does 167 tires fit into a hole that is 4 feet in diameter and 35 feet deep? More details please. Part two?
