In defense of men like myself, sure I buy drinks for women often. Most of them i just know through frequent interactions at that particular venue but I don’t want or expect anything. For ladies I do have an interest in, i will buy her a drink but will never approach or look in her direction after that. If she is interested in having a conversation, she lets me know. If not, its still kool and I enjoy my night out just socializing.

I get what you mean, but what about the chance that he’s doing something nice for someone he finds attractive, he doesn’t do anything to your drink, and he doesn’t expect anything in return? What if he saw someone cute and only wanted to get to know her? I get that this is a genuine safety concern, but it’s harmful to assume that the situation I described is impossible. Just use a cover for your drink and order an angel shot if he’s giving creep vibes and won’t leave you alone.

You're right. Many men will be crappy and have unreal expectations. However, I am a guy and I bought a drink for a woman at a bar in a bowling alley. I didn't expect anything from her except that she goes on her with her life and smiles.
