Do all who believe in the Lord enter the kingdom of heaven? Jesus said: “Many are called, but few are chosen.” (Matthew 22:14 KJV) Only those with genuine faith will enter the kingdom of God. So, what is genuine faith? First, genuine faith is believing God’s Word and being willing to act on it. Noah is the perfect example. God told him to build the ark and prepare for the flood. Noah didn’t ask: “When will the flood come?” “How long will it take?” He simply obeyed God’s command. Even when mocked, even amid long years of labor and difficulty, he persevered for 120 years. His faith wasn’t just believing in God’s existence; it was active obedience. In the end, Noah and his family were preserved through the flood. Second, genuine faith withstands trials. Job is a clear example. When God blessed him, he feared God and turned away from evil. When he lost his wealth, children, and even suffered physically, he did not abandon God. Facing misunderstanding from his wife and friends, he maintained his faith. Job’s faith wasn’t based on God’s blessings but on truly knowing Him. He said: “I know that my Redeemer liveth.” (Job 19:25 KJV) Today, we must ask ourselves: When God calls us to honesty, are we willing to let go of personal gain and pride? When He calls us to love our enemies, are we willing to release bitterness? When trials come, do we still trust God instead of complaining or turning away? This is the true test of faith. Believing in the Lord is not just saying, “Lord, I believe in You.” Genuine faith transforms life. It makes a person willing to obey God, live according to His Word, and stand firm during trials. Such a person is truly preparing to enter God’s kingdom.
