Hi!! I was in the ER and they diagnosed me with infectious colitis. I took the antibiotics and changed my diet. I started feeling better after a couple weeks. A month later I have the exact symptoms as before (the stomach pain, diarrhea/constipation, it basically feels like my stomach is constantly distended & tender) I’m hoping there is good reason for it reoccurring. This is the first time I’ve ever dealt with this in my life.

I have Chronic ulcerative colitis. It runs in my family. My dad had it, 3 first cousins on my dad side of the family have it too and other family members on my dad side who have it too. For me it’s a hereditary issue.☹️

I have medication induced colitis which has been going on for a month even though I've stopped the medication it isn't going away so I had to get a scope to see why it isn't going away

What are tests you would run for someone who doesn’t want a colonoscopy and wants to do least invasive testing first for gut issues…..

Is inflammation in the bowel the same as thickening of the bowel wall on a contrast CT?

I had severe diarrhea for 6 weeks until I got a colonoscopy and micro colitis diagnosis. It’s completely resolved 2 months later. My first diarrhea bout lasted 4 wks 6 mos earlier and then resolved with out treatment. It was comforting to hear it’s not likely to re-occur often

I had acute colitis a few years ago. No clue what caused it, but 2 10 day antibiotics and a liquid diet later, and I was good. My follow up colonoscopy revealed no other issues. It was very unpleasant though, lol.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis , I'd a colonoscopy that showed severe inverse & bleeding from the back passage for 8 weeks , I only had diarrhoea for 2 days , I'd mostly constipation. Was in Hospital for 2 weeks & got 2 doses of infliximab out now one week and still have very bad constipation could I of been wrongly diagnosed?

This was so helpful! I just had (community-based) CDiff and related colitis. Having a colonoscopy in a few weeks to make sure there isn’t more going on on my colon. I appreciate this breakdown.

My acute pain turned out to be diverticulitis. Unfortunately I waited to be seen because I assumed it was just a virus - ended up in the ER with sepsis and a UTI. Earned me an ice bath to bring down the fever and a 4-day stay with IV antibiotics

Thank you for this video! I like the way that you broke it down. Makes much more sense now and I feel a little better.
I'm on my first day of a 2 day colonoscopy prep and this is so hard to do.
