I don't trust this sheriff's public face. That's the voice of, "...anything you say can and will..." He's going the same way as his politicians. They don't need a newsletter or marching orders: they're all monsters who push out, detrain, indoctrinate, and / or cock block the good cops. You seem to already know he's probably not your friend, but imma say it out loud. That's a feature, not a bug of the system. Abusers thrive with qualified immunity and a gun. Cops have way too much power and way too little training or oversight.
