I had to learn hard way that most streamers are unfortunately not my friends and the moment I am doing better than them, their support is suddenly gone. The level of toxicity and envy is unreal sometimes. But those who put their heart in it, gosh I hope you all make it big

i started twitch to genuinely make friends, and was met with a RUDE awakening of how it really is. after a little over a year i met my partner, have a genuine commumity, and have made good friends with another group of streamers 🥰

#3 .. I actually had a bigger streamer (partner now) actively guilt trip and gaslight their “close friends”into showing support .. sick or in the hospital they would ask where you were and how they supported you and expect you to be there .. took me a long time to get ppl to let go of that situation .. thank you for making your content it makes a huge difference to me atleast

Yup I know those ones all to well. Unfortunately I’ve had the hard way that some of my streamer “friends” arn’t as wholesome as they want to appear as. Especially that first point I get a lot. People messaging me out of the blue because they want me to do something for them (usually for free which angers me)

Don’t get me wrong it’s nice that if someone is bigger on the platform to help you out, but I would prefer to go about it my own way most of the time anyway, there’s a few people who I speak to here and there not all the time because like you said we’re all busy trying to do the same thing

Heavy on the first one. I’ve been using Streamerbot for a long time and I’ve had a fair few people “befriend” me only for my knowledge of it. I’ve fully coded redeems for them and then heard nothing. Lesson learnt 😂

Funnily enough the 3 people i’m friends with who do stream we 2 of us only communicate randomly on discord and the other one I never interact with unless its shitposts. Obv we talk (them more than me) when squading together to make the most peak entourage ever. (Genuinely best advice just do whatever you do normally with them and vice versa, and don’t put on a facade)

The weirdest one I have is when A streamer pops in to say hi, but then doesn’t engage again. But do it for nearly every stream. As if they do this multiple different streams just to keep being “remembered” in case they get a shout out!

I used to be 'friends' with a fellow streamer who after a while became my mod etc... I felt i was doing very well in terms of streaming independently but he offered to start co-streaming, which turned into pretty much every single day and we ended up doing flight sim all the time, he guilt tripped me a lot but recently realised he was essentially using me I think cause he only had 800 ish followers yet hes been streaming supposedly 10 years. he barely any viewers and most of the time when we co-streamed, he used to go afk for several hours as well for 'lay downs' etc... so told him and he pretty much claimed nothing was true and he banned me from his channel and removed me from his stream team (thesilentdreameam)...

99% are just there to want something from you hence why I do not even speak to most of them. And usually they are on Twitch and TikTok, people hate on YouTube live and Kick but there at least the s“streamers“ are more open and honest

When she never shows up to watch stream, unless she raids because she’s just looking for a !so but even then she won’t stick around to even say hi. And then tries to say “I was so supportive because I raided that one time.” My rule of thumb is: they have to be good to me offline like a friend would be. If they are using me it’s obvious or if they aren’t nice to me while recording, they probably won’t be very nice behind the scenes too.

felt the showing up only when they need something as among many of my inner circle im considered the tech guy and can usually sus out the issue. noticed a few people that in the begining would show up all the time but have started to only appear when stuff is broken. sad days but life moves on😁
