I'm not saying it's impossible to get your private pilot certificate in 40 hours, because it certainly is. I know there are people out there that are doing it. But I am saying that it is 100% impossible to only pay 40 hours of airplane costs and 30 hours of instructor costs. There's no possible way that you can be that efficient. They will be weather, cancelled flights, ground lessons, checkride prep, and other hidden costs that flight school don't tell you. That's why my problem when flight schools quote you a cost because most of the time it assumes you will be flying all 2 hours with your instructor in a 2 hours lesson (literally impossible with pre and post duties), that you will pass your private pilot certificate with 40 hours, and you will never have to pay your instructor for a ground lesson. That's why choosing a flight school is so important. My first flight school hid this information to me, and I reached their quoted number to reach 40 hours and get my private when I literally only had like 15 hours. They were super inefficient, expensive, and not honest about it. My second flight school was the complete opposite. They honest and open from the very beginning. Make sure the flight school that you choose is honest about the realistic costs of getting your certs! . . . . . #flightschool #privatepilot #aviation #atp #finances
