The fact is Mark Carney told us to judge him based on prices on grocery store shelves. So yes - you’re right - there are other reasons why prices are so high. That said, Carney implied he could resolve this to get elected.

Big grocery companies have property control of what can open up around them. if a place like dollarama opens up near one of these grocery stores certain items can not be sold at a discount cost. And some of these big grocery stores wont allow any mom n pop grocery stores to open. so big grocery monopolies the market in areas so they can keep the prices high 🤦 like WTF

I jokingly mentioned to my mom “ let go grocery shopping and spend 1000.00”. We spent 600.00 and there is only the two of us. I don’t blame the gov but it would be nice if they capped the % that can be used by the rich and go back to not allowing big corporations to monopolize the amount of competition

I make less than $12,000 a year on ODSP ( Ontario disability support program) I don’t eat as much meat as I use too, not because I’m trying to go vegan, just meats are too expensive

I never had a problem before with our family budget but the cost of groceries is absolutely hurting our budget. I try and avoid the big grocery chains who have a monopoly on the prices, nothing to do with Federal Government.

We have a coop grocery store and I am happy to support them. Rural communities are hit hard but we are making adjustments
