Nice build… ma I recommend treating the wood with a polyurethane so it stays strong and looking good with the wear it may get… also may want to consider cutting the mat so your floor vent isn’t blocked, may even be able to put the mat under the metal vent

Gear room and carpet? I feel like laminate floors would be better. The smell and and other earthy smells would just absorb into the carpet. But otherwise! Love it and so much potential
