@pilotinstituteairplanes: Why Can't Pilots Trust the FAA?

Some people spend $5k on testing and wait 2 years for the FAA to make a decision on their case. I can understand why some people are tempted to lie. Especially when most deferrals end up in an approval anyways- the FAA’s just going to put you through hell first. They seem to punish people for being honest.
