Lived in the U.P. All my life… northern closes WAAYY more than tech. I can count the amount of times tech closed on 1 hand in the past 25 years.

Grew up in Marquette area and this isn’t the worst we’ve ever had either 😭. I had 5 days off of 5th grade because it was LITERALLY -35° not including wind chill

I am an NMU alum; we had school canceled a number of times due to extreme cold. It's also a community built for extreme cold and snow, which can't be said for other parts of the country being hit by some of these temperatures.
