@everylatch: How to hack the medela hand pump for colostrum collection! Trying to collect with the hand pump can be hard as the droplets are so thick and small and a lot of times they get stuck in between the flange and the collection chamber! Try flipping the pump upside down and see if you’re able to collect more that way! Gravity is definitely your friend here! I recommend collection for low risk pregnancies around 37 weeks but speak to your provider to ensure they are comfortable! All colostrum collected can be frozen and used for if baby is not latching well or if they have low blood sugar. Questions about colostrum collection???
