No that’s not why the magic seemed childish. They used much more cgi for flashy effects, the storylines were childish, the plotline didn’t make sense for the world already established, etc. TVD was a teen show, and vastly different in tone to legacies

It’s the plot, if the plot didn’t add so many other species and kept it down to what we had, it could’ve been better, they could’ve kept the Malivore plot and just changed his original purpose to have been a prison for the Mikaelson family always and forever that went haywire so they had to stop him, seeing as Aurora was the vampire in the triad, it would’ve made sense, and allowing Malivore to shapeshift into the people he’s consumed would’ve helped with the Landon plot too

no many excuses you try to say to save this show it won’t work. it looked childish bc they tried to do a disney magic aspect and also because the budget was bad. so many shows did dark magic well and they did expression magic really well too. keeping it powerful but still mysterious. unlike legacies magic which is just all goofy

In my opinion legacies was not as bad as people say. The only thing i feel could have been changed is th seasonal villains which they stretched the monsters an malivore, they couldve ended it in s2 and season 3 could be tribrid hope or dark josie

when dark magic was used the look they gave just seemed more like a cosplay. josie seemed more like someone experimenting with a look rather it going through her vains like it did with Bonnie

They had the right idea, the worst writers and the weakest storyline. Those 4 seasons could have been 5 episodes and we wouldnt lost much. I love the Legacies but there was like nothing unexpected or sosososo interesting.
