I was riding my normally unflappable gelding the other day and the wind picked up as it is prone to do in Colorado. The wind didn’t bother him, but then the wind blew a tumble weed that skimmed across the arena right behind him…it brushed against his hocks. He went nuts…poor guy, he had a huge spook and bolt. I managed to stay seated and pulled him up and calmed him down . I’m 73 and have ridden most of my life and hadn’t had a rodeo like that for years! 😌😌

I took up riding bareback to help my seat and balance for when shit hits the fan - my gelding likes to drop and spin when he gets spooked. Thankfully he doesn’t bolt - but that sudden spin used to unseat me.

correct. Something similar happened to me the other day. Only there was no other hors. It happened during a trail ride, and apparently the horse saw some 👻 👻 that only he could see...🤣
