@gmanews: A car bomb exploded in an attack that targeted the convoy of a commander of a Saudi-backed military unit near the southern Yemeni port city of Aden on Wednesday, January 21. Two soldiers were reportedly killed and several others injured. A blast took place north of Aden as a convoy carrying Hamdi Shukri, a senior commander in the Giants Brigades, was passing through the Ja'awalah area on the northern outskirts of the city. An explosives-laden vehicle parked on the side of the road detonated as the convoy drove by, striking two of its vehicles and killing two soldiers on board, while Shukri survived. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. According to Yemen's state news agency Saba, the leader of the internationally recognized government, Presidential Council chief Rashad al-Alimi, later called Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri to inquire about his health following the bombing and to praise his role in security operations in and around Aden. | via Reuters #GMAIntegratedNews
