One thing I will never understand is why some people say, “You don’t deserve me,” or “Wala kang patutunguhan sa’kin,” when all they ever wanted was for that person to stay. They weren’t materialistic, they didn’t demand anything, and they didn’t need much. All they wanted was to be with that person and spend the rest of their lives together. They imagined achieving their dreams, becoming successful, building a family, and experiencing all the things they once dreamed of.
That person was already enough. Can we all agree that it hurts the most when a breakup doesn’t involve another girl or boy? When there was no betrayal or big reason things just didn’t work out, or maybe it just stopped. Because sometimes, the most painful relationships are the ones that never really got the chance to start, but somehow still ended.
There are times in your life when you experience being loved the way you always wanted, or even more than you expected. That person makes you feel things you’ve never felt with anyone else. They give you a kind of peace you never knew you needed, and they become the person you could genuinely imagine spending your life with.
But sometimes, God has His own reasons for separating two people, even when they truly love each other. No matter how much they loved each other, if God didn’t intend for them to stay together, then it won’t happen. And sometimes, that’s the person you’ll end up missing and yearning for long after they’re gone.
