As a 38 year old who just finished my PhD, am preparing to have my first published peer reviewed journal article, opened my own business, and turned around two months after finishing my PhD decided to go back to school to finish my second master that I started with my first but didn’t finish the second degree due to financial reasons. I’m single, no kids and like you my lease is up in February and will go month to month because I’m not sure where I want to live. I’m living life at the pace my life wants me to live it and while everyone seems to be bothered that I’m 38 with no kids and no partner but I’m in no rush and believe things will happen when they are expected to happen. Rushing life and trying to meet what society defines as standards and expectations for a woman in her 20 and 30s in my opinion has led to people being unhappy in their career and unhappy in their home life. As Forrest Gump so eloquently said “Life is like a box of chocolate you never know what your going to get” so go with the flow, listen to your heart and gut and don’t rush or set deadlines for yourself based on others expectations. That’s my two cents I bring to this conversation. Love your content you remind me a lot of my sister especially with your cats, me I’m highly allergic but they look adorable.

I’m at 36 intern at a Big 4. I walked into this with so much shame because I felt so behind all of these young kids. But truthfully, I’m having the time of my life 💜

I just found your page and I'm so glad!!!! I got married and divorced in my 20s. Moved to a new state in my 30s. I was laid off (for the first time in my life) from my career of 8 years - which I loved. I'm in the healthiest relationship of my life and we just celebrated 2 years. Oh and I'll be 40 at the end of the year!!! I don't know what I'll do next, but I'm excited for whatever it is!!! Life really does have seasons and starting over may be scary, but there is so much growth there. We can do hard things. ✨️✨️

As a 45 yr old, I'd say this isn't *quite* true from my experiences. Once you get into your 40s everything gets just a little harder. I started a very successful business 13 years ago which is still growing and I'm so grateful I had that foundation. It would be so much different trying to start it now. It felt like it took so long to turn 40 and now just like that I'm 45. Time speeds up out of nowhere. I travel the world, run a business, family, friends, it's a lot and every year that passes I feel like I'm running out of time to do everything!

I felt so much pressure from society and family to live life as a timeline even if it meant not being completely happy. Have going through that i try very hard not to let my girls feel the same way.
