My gf booked a room in Vegas through Expedia and we couldn’t even check in bc that specific hotel needed a credit card to charge which we didn’t have but we had no idea because on Expedia it allowed us to book the room with just her debit card😳 luckily Expedia got us another room at a different hotel

They didn’t have my reservation at one hotel and had it wrong at another. Hotel said I had to contact Expedia and it was impossible. Amex uses Expedia but Amex acts as the middle man which quoted me more money than booking direct. Overall I’ve paid less or exactly the same booking direct.

I purchased this vacation package on February 9, 2026 for Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort in Cabo San Lucas. After booking, Expedia changed my confirmed flights to a new itinerary that included an unreasonable routing through Guadalajara, Mexico, with a nearly 6-hour layover and a total travel time of 10 hours 34 minutes. The revised itinerary included: Ontario (ONT) departure at 12:55 a.m. Arrival Guadalajara (GDL) at 5:00 a.m. Layover: 5 hours 58 minutes Depart Guadalajara at 10:58 a.m. Arrive San José del Cabo (SJD) at 11:29 a.m. This was a substantial and unacceptable change from the original trip I selected and paid for. I did not authorize Expedia to substitute my flights with a significantly longer itinerary involving overnight travel, an international layover, and excessive delays. Because Expedia materially altered the reservation after payment, I canceled the package and expected a full refund. Expedia has refused to return my money.

i only use expedia for hotels and have never had an issue! i personally only book flights directly thru the airline or my travel credit card website bc of anxiety

They’re customer service is horrible and rude. Look at the deals and book directly with the airline, this helps avoid any issues.

I would only book flights through the airline, but I’ve booked hotels through Expedia many times and I’ve had zero issues

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with them but I have friends who have had bad ones. Like booking with Expedia and going to the hotel and their is no reservation
