i'm pretty sure it is all about the numbers. When colleges talk about the incoming class it's SAT's and GPA's as well as acceptance percentage. It's a marketing game. Spring start so they don't have to include your stats. Never once have they said we admitted a bunch of great kids with amazing extracurriculars who had low GPA's and SATs because they're good people who we know will thrive in our community.
