even as a child when I went to visit family who had a TERRIFYING doll collection i would still sleep in the room that housed them all despite being genuinely afraid of them. I did it without complaints too. because its not my house, they mean alot to my aunt, and ITS A DOLL.

I think you guys lost over the fact that he said it was something his daughter and her mother were into and that the mother had passed. It not only makes his daughter happy but keeps her connected to her mother that she no longer has.

La Santa Muerts can be associated with light and dark rituals. She might honestly be scared because of what the saint is associated with. The color of the statue has a lot to do with it to.
