Get both I got both, I just max out Roth every year and the extra money I put in my brokerage account, but don't buy dividend heavy stocks with your brokerage the tax you'll have to pay will outweigh the dividend itself

With a Roth you can also withdraw any money you put in without penalty, you just can’t withdraw any money beyond what YOU put in. So withdraw interest-free money no penalty 👍🏾
