Modified Bass Method • Toothbrush bristles are oriented at 45° to the long axis of the tooth, with the tips directed toward the gingiva or cervical third of the tooth • Use vibratory/rotatory movements, followed by 5 rolling strokes • Bristles should move from the cervical third toward the occlusal third of the tooth The Modified Bass Method is indicated for patients with intact interdental papilla and no gingival recession.
