@ezeugo19: When you and your husband live like roommates and he no longer adds anything positive to your day—but leaving isn’t an option… Disclaimer: This is applicable for marriages where you have drifted apart as people and is not for those marriages that involves abuse. You don’t just stay. You shift. You stop waiting for him to brighten your day. And you start becoming the light in your own life again. Here’s how you begin: ✨ 1. Grieve what’s missing. Stop pretending it doesn’t hurt. Grieve the affection, presence, kindness, emotional safety you’re not getting. This grief is sacred. It clears the space for truth. ✨ 2. Take him off the pedestal of “source.” He is not the source of your joy, your peace, or your purpose. Reclaim that power. Make him a part of your life, not the centre of your emotional world. ✨ 3. Focus on emotional self-resourcing. Ask: What makes me feel alive, connected, grounded, inspired? Start bringing those things back into your daily routine—even in small doses. That yoga class. That book. That one friend who gets you. ✨ 4. Find neutral ground with him. If he’s emotionally absent or indifferent, lower the emotional investment. Be polite, clear, but don’t keep going back hoping for a different version of him. Detach, not with anger—but with dignity. ✨ 5. Rebuild your identity outside the marriage. Who are you when you’re not managing him, walking on eggshells, or holding the family together? That woman still exists. Bring her back. ✨ 6. If nothing else changes—you will. Even if he stays the same, you’ll no longer live in reaction to him. You’ll no longer shape your day around what he gives—or doesn’t give. You become the author of your emotional experience again. 💬 Tell me honestly—have you reached this point in your marriage? 📩 DM me if you’re done waiting and ready to return to yourself. You don’t have to leave the marriage to start healing inside it. #fyp #motivation #Relationship #quotes #marriage

He cheated on me after 19 years of marriage.
His mistress dared to write to me, telling me that I am nobody and that she is the queen of my husband.
I fought hard for love — and I lost.
Never sacrifice your one and only life for the wrong person.

Living like roommates who genuinely like and care for each other. We don’t lead separate lives but we do have separate interests. We take care of each other. Ours is a contest of generosity. I’m here for him 100% and he’s here for me 100%. He’s my best friend. I’m very very fortunate - I know most marriages are miserable.
