Thank you for explaining. I wasn't asking to have a go at Islam I was genuinely curious. I am Christian and we pray before eating meals as well. We don't have a single word for it though and the prayer might be different based on the context of the meal (i.e. if someone else made it for you, if you have guests you might pray for them and give thanks for them, etc.). But they all involve thanks for the food, what we want the food to do, and praise for God.

I was teaching about the Qu'ran yesterday as part of my RE unit (primary school) and thanks to your videos I had far more confidence in my pronunciation of common words such as Allah and Qu'ran. I'm passionate about RE in schools so to be able to have accurate information is important to me. Thank you for sharing ❤

Also as a translator i can say that whatever you translate even from very close languages there will still be loss in the meaning or different interpretation due to connotations in that language. That's why using one language unites us during prayer. Because how you understand and interpret will change but what you say is same.

This is gonna sound like I'm taking the mick but I don't mean to be, just a thought I had watching your videos talking about learning Arabic and such and it's made me think of the pirates of the Caribbean scene where the pirate who can't read is looking at the Bible and is like 'it's the Bible, you get points for trying'. Is that kind of the same attitude like, if you're learning how to pronounce the daily prayers but don't quite have it right yet but actively trying?

Question about the 5 times a day prayers: Are there specific alternatives to kneeling or bending if you have pain, proprioceptive issues, balance issues, or some other physical limitation that prevents you from kneeling and/or bowing on your prayer mat safely? Or is left up to the individual to do what best suits their body and its limitations?

Anybody who learn arabic, will understand the beauty of this language. I mean, this is the language that comes from The One that create everything include languages. Meaning this is the best language to communicate between the created beings and The One that create them. Remember, the revelation is taught using this language to a prophet that can't write or read. Meaning this must be the easiest and best language in every aspect.
