@cactustherescue: We were just hanging out in the backyard when I heard loud rustling in the plants at the far end of the yard. It was so intense I honestly thought it was a person. Before I could even process it, Cactus took off running. A massive iguana came sprinting full speed across the yard with Cactus right behind it. This is the same dog who is usually timid, jumpy, and scared of everything. But somehow he has a hidden predator switch. He has pinned down smaller lizards before and tried to eat them, so I was doing everything I could to avoid a standoff with a two foot iguana. Luckily the iguana escaped the yard, but Cactus spent the next twenty minutes trying to find a way out to go after it again. Lesson learned. Never underestimate the quiet ones. And I definitely need chicken wire under the gate.
