And what happens if there’s a 30% drop in year 1? You lose $600k plus the $120k you took out. Now you have 1.28 million. But what if it goes up 30% in year 2? You now have 1,664,000 - $120k =1,544,000. Oops. Sequence of Returns Risk is the biggest danger. Be more conservative early in retirement.

What are people spending $200k a year on? I live on $45k a year. I don't touch my savings and I have a mortgage.

I agree! Plus I have no kids so no one to leave my estate too. Even if I did, I got jack from my parents and I did just fine. Even with without a college degree.

A 90/10 asset allocation while you are retired? A CFP would never recommend this.

I was interested until you explained you’d want to spend it all. I want to leave money for my kids and create some generational wealth.

crazy. you making a huge generalization. maybe you can do that if you retire early but as you age, you might not have enough time to regain a loas if there is a significant downturn in the market. I wiukd also want international exposure a bond fund. plus I woukd want money in spaxx earning interest so you have some thing to draw on besides your position in a diwn market

If you’re going to put all that $$$ in VTI…you better PRAY TO GOD…that the market is BULLISH in the early years of retirement…otherwise you’ll be bouncing checks WAY before your last breath. 💯 Real Talk
