@plotlab1: The Secret Math Behind Your Credit Card CVV 💳 Do you think the CVV (Card Verification Value) on the back of your card is just a random number? Think again! 💳🚫 The CVV is actually a calculated result using a secret Cryptographic Algorithm called DES (Data Encryption Standard). 🔐 Here is the formula banks use: 1️⃣ They take your Primary Account Number (PAN). 2️⃣ Add the Expiration Date + Service Code. 3️⃣ They encrypt this data using a pair of secret DES Keys (only known to the bank). 🔑 4️⃣ The result is converted into decimal numbers, and the selected digits become your CVV! This is why fraudsters can't just "guess" your CVV—without the bank's secret keys, the math doesn't work. 🛡️💻 Visualized using Python & Manim.
