Couldn’t agree more I’m 19 and some influencers I followed I no longer do. I spent basically all of my teenage years worrying about my weight and image it upsets me looking back as all my photos are blurred out or I deleted. social media definitely had a major influence unfortunately

On the contrary, the internet has completely glorified being overweight, and celebrating it like it’s some kind of trophy and not unhealthy.

as a 16 year old, this is so accurate. I can't even count the amount of girls (and lads but especially girls) ik who have struggled with weight, and social media is a huge part of it

I was told by a teacher from secondary school that there is a new trend or whatever you want to call it, the girls are eating one protein bar on their small break and another one on lunch and nothing for the rest of the day !!! I was like whhaaattt! I’m doing a health and fitness talk with them in March and omg I can’t wait !!

It always has been like this.. I mean in Italy. My mum would say I was "plump" but then I looked at the picture and think where was I plump?

couldn't agree more. I'm 17 (coming up to 18 in a few months) and I love my body now. I was someone who struggled with body image and comparing myself to others when I was younger before I realised I didn't need to change to impress anyone or fit in at all. When I look back at my younger self, I would have told that girl to chill and not care about anyone else's opinions on my body and to just embrace my curves. I used to be a dance and to look at myself and my body now eveloving, dancing, shaking my bum and curves around, not giving a crap about anything and enjoying myself.
