Recent studies show the appendix is really important for good gut bacteria and should not be removed unless it's doomed to burst, and the tonsils should not be removed since they prevent the infections from going further down the digestive system.

Appendix and tonsils store good bacterias that our bodies need to fight infections etc and its not necessary to remove until they become dangerous to keep in the body

No parts of the body are not needed. You can still live with one lung or one kidney but two is best. The appendix stores microbes to repopulate the gut when needed. There are seven tonsils and they fifgt infection. When one set is removed as a child they often regrow. There is a big difference in the ability to surviving without and not needing.

I’ve had all of these removed before I was 19. My appendix burst and I end up in intensive care. The worst pain I’ve ever felt.
