This isn’t the first time, I think people are overreacting this year. I’m much more worried about the south right now with the ice storm they’re supposed to get. 🥺 We’re used to ice snow and cold, they are not.

The amount of people I see freaking out like this doesnt happen every year is insane. Those of us seasoned to it wing it.. we know whats up we got the resources to deal with it and then its over. 😂💯

We lost our power last year for a 12 days .. we were pretty ok learned a lesson that needed a better generator then. We had to gather water from the river . This year the river is frozen over … but we are prepared & upgraded our generator and the snow helps insulate. So feeling good .

Charging battery packs, made sure the kids have their favorite snacks and comfort things. It will be safer for me out in the -50F windchill than indoors helping two nonverbal kiddos navigate a power/internet outage. I did make sure my spouse has his blanket/sleeping bag in his truck but that is an every winter thing

I’m 40 weeks pregnant with my second kid. The prepping was getting my first kid to my parents house so in case we go into labor we aren’t trying to move him in the cold
