think people are using 'protecting their peace' to just be rude and selfish. I will put everyone before myself because clearly they need my help if they come to me and I cant not help yet when I go looking help its never there. it wont stop me being me but im glad more people are catching on to it

You may be correct in what you are saying but if people have take the trend of 'protecting my peace' this way they are doing it wrong. You are meant to still show up for the ones you love and the ones that show up for you. The sentiment is about realising and dealing with those relationships which are one sided on your part.
